Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr D. Jackson.

The first half of this course is a crash course in Electronics, full of hands on practical work, making circuits, soldering and using multimeters. We will undertake a number of projects including a miniature TESLA Coil which students can keep. To compliment the practical aspects, we will delve into the theory behind electronics and how modern circuits work.

The second half of the course is a light introduction into programming and mechatronics, where we will work with micro-bits and maker-bots, programming in scratch, solving a number challenges such as a maze solving robot!

This course will make a great taster for students considers getting into electronics or mechatronics as well as being a future pathway into physics or electrical trades.
