Social Studies 2

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Tim Clarke.

Social Studies learning area is about how societies work and how people participate and interact with their beliefs, each other and their environment.

The aim of Level 2 Social Studies is to help students develop an understanding of society and its changing institutions, systems and processes. Students will look objectively at social life, gaining a critical awareness of the ways in which society is organised, the importance of social groups and institutions, and the place of the individual within these groups and institutions.

The social world is a fascinating place and the sociological perspective involves asking questions about
society, which challenge what otherwise is normally taken for granted. Social Studies is interesting and relevant.
Learn to understand the social world. Learn where you fit into it.
