An introduction to Psychology. Psychology is the study of the brain and behaviour. Key issues faced by psychologists: depression; community mental health; the power of advertising. Some debates that will be explored include: nature vs nurture, and is advertising making us obese?
It will also cover famous experiments and community psychology.

Term 1
The various approaches used to explain behaviour.
How the brain works.
Internal on approaches.
Term 2
Are humans and animals the product of nature or nurture? Twin and triple studies will be discussed.
Is advertising making humans unhealthy?
Debates in psychology internal.
Term 3
Famous experiments in Psychology: Milgram's experiment and the Robber's cave
Experiment design internal.
Sports Psychology.
Fields internal.
Term 4
Finish internal on Sports
Sleep and dreams study.
