9 Reading Support
9RDG Course DescriptionTeacher in Charge: Katrina Larsen.
This is an option which helps support and accelerate under-developed reading and comprehension skills. Students with a low reading age will be required to take this course. Over the course of 10 weeks we engage with a variety of reading material, from articles, song lyrics and stories, to film transcripts and subtitles. The aim of this course is to supplement students' work in other classes and to learn to read for enjoyment.
Course Overview
Term 1
Each term, students will engage with a variety of reading material. The course is adapted to suit the reading ability range within the class, but you can expect to read poems, stories, articles, instructions, film transcripts, film subtitles, song lyrics, and more! Each week time is also dedicated to independent reading so that students may begin to read for enjoyment too.
Term 2
Each term, students will engage with a variety of reading material.
