10 Design

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Leana Buxton.

Students will expand skills and understanding in design and composition of digital media, which includes photography, digital imagery and typography. Students will develop ideas between multiple design outcomes through a creative and innovative approach. Current tasks include students creating their own digital pepeha, logo design and branding outcomes. A fun, hands on a practical class.

Course Overview

Term 1
Students will design Zines where they explore their own identity in the production of an image and text based design. Learning about how to link multiple sides, the integration of text and image and how a design functions are key elements of learning. This will be further developed into the generation of their own Monogram Design where they explore typography and how it can be used to create motifs and symbols.

Term 2
Students will create marketing material to promote a local event or relevant issue. This will necessitate an understanding of audience and the decisions they will need to make in order to reach this demographic. Experimentation of design making processes such as collage, digital montage and animation will be explored.

Term 3
