Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Colin Lawrence.
•Practical programme based on two major projects, using a range of modern and traditional construction methods.
•Development of practical hand tool skills and modern machine use.
This course undertaken in a Engineering Workshop.
Course Overview
Term 1
Safety and machinery induction.
First practical commences - Complex Gear-knob project.
Measuring, marking out, shaping filing finishing.
Term 2
Machining.
Milling
Turning
Term 3
Second practical commences 'No Twist Clamp'
Term 4
Final assessment based on performance over 2 practical projects.
Prerequisites
You will need HOD approval if you did not take a pathway course in Year 11.
