Māori Performing Arts 3

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Paora Teka.

This course is intended for students who would like to extend their understanding and demonstrate knowledge in the art of performing haka, mau rākau (Maori weaponry) and lead into scholarship papers for Māori performing arts.

Course Overview

Term 1
Term 1 & 2 focuses on preparing a 4 item bracket in the lead into the Super 8 Kapa Haka performance.

Term 2
Term 1 & 2 focuses on preparing a 4 item bracket in the lead into the Super 8 Kapa Haka performance.

Term 3
Term 3 focuses on growing students around local waiata that can be used for kaupapa such as pohiri.

Prerequisites

Must have completed Māori Performing Arts 2 - (but not essential)
