9 Māori Performing Arts
Course Description
Teacher in Charge:
Māori Performing Arts provides an opportunity for students to be introduced to haka (traditional Māori war dance), mau rakau (traditional war dance using Māori weaponry), waiata and moteatea (songs and chants).
Course Overview
Term 1
Term 1 focuses on the practical use of māori performing arts such as wero (welcoming visitors through a challenge),haka and waiata tautoko for the pohiri process.
