Accounting is the study of how we communicate financial information to businesses/organisations to help their decision-making.
This course aims to promote knowledge and understanding of Accounting as a financial language for individuals, community organisations and businesses, and enable students to apply financial knowledge and skills to practical situations.
The stereotype of a pencil pushing accountant hunched over a calculator scribbling sums couldn't be be more inaccurate in todays world.

Demonstrate understanding of a topical accounting issue for decision-making.
Demonstrate understanding of an Accounts Receivable subsystem for an entity.
Demonstrate understanding of Accounting Processing using accounting software

Interpret Accounting Information for sole proprietors that operate accounting subsystems
Prepare financial information for an entity that operates accounting subsystems
(Journals, Ledgers, Financial Statements)
Prepare for the exams.
If you did not take a pathway course at Level 1, or achieved fewer than 14 credits in that course, you will need HOD approval.
