11 Athlete Development
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Gareth Hyett.
11ADP is for students who have a genuine interest in improving their sporting performance and who show promise in their chosen sport(s). This course follows on from the sport specific Year 10 Athlete Development half year option. This programme has an emphasis on building a foundation for athletic performance for students to feed into TBC 1st teams.
This course is by selection. Students selected for this course will be decided by Mr Hyett. Priority will be for those students that have been selected for Junior 1st and 2nd teams and individual athletes who are competing to a high standard in their chosen sport. Selection is also based on attitude and effort in the Year 10 Athlete Development course.
This course is made up of five periods a week. Two of these are strength and conditioning sessions and three theory based lessons focusing on GCSE PE. The strength and conditioning sessions are a compulsory requirement of this course.
ADP1, ADP2 and ADP3 have a theory and practical content for qualification purposes.
You may not study PHE1, PHE2 or PHE3 in conjunction with ADP1, ADP2 and ADP3.
